Blog Hop - Beltane 2017

Hello you beautiful Blog Hopers and merry meet :)

How are you doing? I hope this blog finds you well and I hope have a peaceful Beltane or an international workers day celebrations. Do you celebrate it or are you like me - it is a day off work?

Back to this blog, folks :) It is this time of the year again :) Yes, It is another Blog Hop :)
The wonderful Arwen have provided us another great topic/question:"Do you combine Tarot with any other divination system? Why or why not?"

I do use Tarot and oracle in my practice, but lately I have been mixing Runes into this and so far I am surprised how well it is going... I have some other systems I want to try/study/use in my practice, like tealeaf reading/palmestry/necromancy... I want to study all I can get my heands on.

Tarot to me something that is deep, mysterious, clearing. I often find sides with myself I wasn't aware of/didn't know and I often surprise myself and say: "Oh that's why? it makes sense :)" and it is a friend who tells you to "get your ass off the bed and do the fucking work!!" Yes, Tarot can be a bossy and a bitchy friend, but it means well and it wants you to be best you can be. So it is up to us take it or leave it.

Along with the Tarot I use oracle cards/Lenormand. When I use the Oracle cards together with Tarot I just use it as a overall energy or a message I need to take with me..
But there also times where I just want a quick answer, hopefully yes/ no answer, then I use just the Lenormand, because the Tarot can be a chatty friend as well as a bitchy friend.. I guess all of us have or had one of those people in life one time or another.

When it comes to Runes, I finds it very interesting although I haven't worked so much with them as I would liked.
I haven't started to use it in client readings (face to face readings), but I am about to start to use them in my email readings.. I don't know when - it will be in this side og the year :)

An example of a reading for someone:
I often lay down the tarot cards in the spread and I use the last tarot card as a shadow card (do I need to pay attention to this/is it something new). I use one or two oracle cards overall energy to the client - the client may or may not understand what this means.. I always tell the client if he/she doesn't know what it means right now, please have it back in the mind because it can pop up when you least expect it to and suddenly you know exactly what it means.

Have a wonderful day, afternoon or evening fellow blog hoppers and I will see you in the next blog :)
I send you alot of love and merry see,

Love,

Susann

Another Tarot tag #aprilArwen

Hello you all and merry meet :)

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of blog heaven :) How are you you doing and I hope you are doing great
So, Arwen Lynch has put together another tag for us and I am a sucker for a good tag :) The main video for this tag is here.
These tag are on YT, but I am not there.... yet, but give me a few months and I may pop on YT... I am think it may be fun :)

Back to the tag :)

1. What's your primary reason for pulling out your cards?
- I didn't know I needed to have a reason (smarty-pants :) )  I find shuffling soothing

2. Do you use Tarot in any other way other than reading? (i.e., spells, crafts, fancy hat making?)
- Well, I shuffle them while I watch tv, YT, daily draws, medtitations. When I make spreads

3. If you use Tarot as part of your magical practice, can you share some examples?
- Although I am witch, I do not practice magick... I think..

4. How do you explain what Tarot is when someone asks you? (assume it's in a well-meaning way)
- I ask if they have heard about tarot, Tarot is card stock which has pretty art on them. Every card can tell a piece of of a story. For every card you put down you add another piece, it is like puzzle. They can help you to give advice.

5. What's your favorite spread to use and why?
- I don't have a favourite spread, but I lay three card spread at the most.

6. Name a famous, currently living, person who embodies one of the following cards for you: Hermit, Star, Justice (just one card and one person is fine!)
-  For me I see Keanu Reeves as something between the Hermit and Justice. I don't know the guy, but is based on what I have seen in the tabloids- He is not the one who claim his fame, He won't go scream: Here I am, World, I am taking my place and you better deal with it. He has experienced things that can break your heart, he has made choices in his life that is right for HIM like he take the subway to his destinations, he don't live in a millions dollar mansion (I don't think he does).  I think he is one of the down to earth people I have read about and I think he well balanced man.

7. Have you ever read in a crowded, noisy chaotic environment? How did it go for you?
- I haven't been given reading in those settings yet, I have only had face to face readings.

8. Do you do any type of ritual (meaning repetive, do-it-every-time and/or spiritual) before you read?
 - Depends where I am sitting.. Am I sitting in the kitchen I must have the dishes done and the floor cleaned and get rid of any clutter, I need to use a table cloth, burn some incence and light some tea lights and relax and shuffle for few minutes. Prior to all this I need to walk my dog so he doesn't bother while I read or prepare for a reading.

9. Draw a card to answer this question "What is my next best step, Universe?"
 - I used my Shadowscape Tarot and I got 6 of Swords and it is asking what I running away from? I know I have been in my personal cave (the Hermit) for the last months due to some issues that is a bit personal. I need t pull another card on this and I got the world. I will be at the end of this trial as soon as I know what to do and in what order I need to to do them... I makes sense to me :)

 10. How do you think you can personally improve your reading skills?
- I still need to study and I need to read tarot books, those I have and those are coming my way soon.
And I need to practice my readings with daily draws, journaling and meditations.

Love and blessed be,

Susann

Some myths about Tarot

Hello sun children and merry meet :)
How are you doing thes days and I hope all of you are doing great. I hope you have a peaceful celebration with the Easter, if you celebrate it.

Today's blogpost are reposting a post I did before Christmas/Yule and I want to post it again :)

As a tarot reader you hear a lot of myths about tarot from a lot people. I want to burst some of these myths - Some of these have I heard myself and others I came across on the internet.

1. Tarot can "see" the future?
-well, no.. you can't see the future. There is some people who are more intuitive than others and use their gift. Like i have said throughout in this blog post, You are the boss over your destiny, nothing is set in stone and you have a free will.

2. Tarot can reveal someones feelings
- Only if this was true... you can not see someone feelings in the cards.

3. The cards is powerful?
- No, the cards do not have powers at all. Tarot is only 78 cards of paper which happend to have pretty art on them. The beholder of the power is YOU. You have the power to do the changes in your life, the cards can't do that for you.

On the other side you can have powerful tarot reading through the messages - because you get messages that you need to hear.

4. You can only use a tarot deck that has been given to you?
-No, no, no this is an old folklore that says you can't buy you own decks. In these days, you can buy you own decks, you can borrow decks, you can gift a deck if you like :)

I can understand why myths like this comes from because way back in the day Tarot was very expensive and it for those with money and power who could afford tarot decks. I don't remember who said it, but when Visconti family had their Tarot deck made due to the marriage between Maria Visconti and Franscisco Szorfa, the tarot was given as a party gift. Price of a Tarot in those days was equal to a Ipad is today

5. Tarot is witch craft/it is magickal/devil's work?
-And again no.. there is people who say this to scare people and unfortunaly some of you are easily scared. Some witches uses tarot cards (not every one who reads tarot are witches!), Tarot decks is not magickal before the owner says it is (see question #3), and the devil is not real (in my opinion).

There are people who want you to believe that the church banned the Tarot because it is "evil".  The church was against alot of card plays and dices an all that good stuff because it was seen as gambling. Anything like this you can win money off was seen as a bad thing.

6. You have be a psychic to be tarot reader?
- No, everyone can learn how to read cards. It is all about remember the cards meaning. You don't have to be a spiritual person either. There are people wo are psychic readers and who are very intuitive. I am not a psychic reader.

7. You are doomed on what the cards says?
- No, We human have something called free will and nothing is set in stones. And you are arein charge og your own destiny. On every actions/choices we make throughout the day always have a consequence.. good or bad. If you come across a reader which gives you a reader and he/she tells you the reading is set in stone... Lose their respect and walk away.

8. You have to wrap the cards in silk?
- It is YOUR deck(s) so you want with them, if you want wrap them up with silk, go ahead.. you can even have them in bags out of cloth if you like, nylon, wooden box or the box they came in... or you can store them like they is on the shelf.

9. You shall not give yourself a reading?
-Why not? When your are a beginner, you have to start somewhere.. it is natrual to start with youself.. daily draw and such. I know it can be difficult and it is easy to lay a new spread if you are not agreeing with the cards. It is easy to reshuffle till you find those cards which tells you what you want to hear.

10. There are only one way to read the card?
-If this was true it would be so simple to learn the cards. Another thing would be that it would be extremly boring if there was only one way to read the cards. It is like if you have been to one reader then you have to all readers...

11. You are the only one who can touch the cards?
- No. this is false. However there are readers who prefer that the client don't touch the cards.. You may have readers who want to include the client in this reading... then you may have the clients who don't want to be included by touching the cards.

12. Death means that someone is going to die?
- Most often this is not true.. Death means change, transformation, one door closes and another door opens.. very very rarly it mean someone is going to die. That has happend to me once in all of the years of tarot reading.

14. You have to do a ritual before you do a reading?
-no, You do what feel natrual to you, If you want to light some tea ligt, burn some inscense, use a tablecloth that Great grandmother used the she had the family over for sunder dinners.. You do what represent you.

15. Tarot is always right?
-I wish this was so true sometimes because it would mean that I would have been millionaire by now ;)

16. The age of tarot?
-Tarot has been rumored to be as old as the pyramids and connected to Egypt but there is no solid fact for that. This rumor seems to have begun along with the first mention of Tarot as a mystical tool by Antoine Court de Gebelin. De Gebelin was a French occultist who linked Tarot to ancient Egypt in his book published in 1781. Many other major influences in Tarot also followed de Gebelin. This included names like Eliphas Levi, Arthur Edward Waite and even Aleister Crowley. There simply is no factual basis to this thought. There is evidence of cards being used for divination as early as 1540 in a book called The Oracles of Francesco Marcolino da Forli. And Casanova noted in his infamous diary that his Russian mistress often did divination with a deck of playing cards.
What we do know is that the first deck can be traced to Italy in the 15th century. Between 1410 and 1430 in Milan, Ferrera or Bologna. This first deck was when an artist added trump cards, "carte de trionfi" or "triumph cards" featuring faces of the Visconti and Sforza families as a wedding gift. This answer is taken from tarot myths by Arwen Lynch and you can find the post here.

17. Pregnant women shall NOT have a reading
-False, but I do understand that might be a stressful setting while you are pregnant and the tarot reader should be concerned and so calm and relaxed as possible so the mother to be is not stressed, is the mother stressed so will the child.

18. Every reversed cards are negative?
- No, negative cards isn't always negative or positive cards isn't always positive - up right or reversed

19. You can not trust anyone who read tarot
-why not?

20. The cards are dangerous, you can "lose you marbles"
- I have heard this few years ago, but no. I was talking to someone and he told me that his sister (or sister-in-law) was to a tarot reader and she wasn't the same afterwards and she needed serious help by the proffesionals... I am so tempted to let the bitch in me come out and say that she had lost her marbles long before she visited a tarot reader.

Blessed be and merry see,

Susann

BR Arwen's #tarottag15

Hello  Lovly and merry meet,

How are you all doing? I hope you are doing weel and you had a great Ostara:)
So what's on the table today? It is another tarot tag and I am a sucker to tarot tags :)
The lovley Arwen put together 15 great tarot questions. You can find Arwen's tarot tag here

  1. What is your current favourite deck?
-         I have two decks that I love right now. The first one is Sharman Caselli and it is because I finally cracked the some of the tarot codes with it and the second is the Illuminati tarot.<--- This blew my mind.. I am not a fan of computerized images, but it speaks so well with me and so “loud”
Sharman-Caselli Tarot
 2. What Tarot card do you think stands for who you are now?
- I am the hermit in that sense I am in my “personal cave” and I take some time out.I am seeking answers. I get these periods in my life that I need to be alone and when I have these moments it can go from some days till few months. I always question myself: Am I on the right path? Is this right for me?

3. What Tarot card do you think stands for who you want to be?
- I want to be all of the Queens. I want to be 100% in tune with the elements of my life. I want to have the nuture towards other as well as my self, Care for alle earthly being around me like Queen of the Pentacles, I want to be in tune with my feelings, have a lot of experience and wisdom like the Queen of Cups, I want to be a master of communications in all levels of my life, I want to speak on the behalf of others who can't speak for themself like the Queen of the Swords and I want to be the hostess with the mostess :) I want to be transform myself when other least expect it and bring the best in others like the Queen of the Wands.

4. Draw a Tarot card and tell us how it answers the question, "What does the Universe want you to know right now?"
-         I got the Star, the universe want me know that I need to heal, renew myself and the way to do that is limitless. You may be in the dark now, but know this: it is a light in the end of the tunnel. The shadow card (the last card in the deck) shows me that it is celebration down the road, I will have a feeling of being blessed, I will find new friendships, new work partners Hey - Life is a party!! All I must remember is that everyday can not be a party. I must show up and do the work,

 5. Do you have any cards that you MUST love in order to work with a Tarot deck?
-         It may sound a bit morbid, but it has to be death, devil, the tower and the moon just to name a few.

6. Why Tarot and not some other divination system?
- I am in love with tarot and I can’t see myself do something else. I also do Runes and Oracle/Lenormand readings as well.

7. What's the first book you can remember reading about Tarot (other than the LWB [Little White Book]?
-         I don’t have a lot of tarot books, but when I started out I had a book about tarot, “tarot” by Jane Lyle when I started to read tarot. Since then I have bought Tarot for dummies, Holistic tarot, the Tarot Bible and a few more on my wishlist

8. What Tarot person would you like to sit down with for a chat about Tarot?
- Hmmm, there are so many people I want to have a chat about tarot, dead or alive. I would love to involved in tarot workshops or gatherings. I am loving the idea to sit down and talk tarot with other tarot readers over a glass of wine or tea :)

9. Tell me about one YouTube Tarot channel that you watch (and why.)
-         I do watch a lot of tarot channels, but just name a few: Tarot by Arwen, Ethony, Tarot by Ania, Sacred seed, Biddy tarot, John Ballantrae, Kelly-Ann Maddox

10. How many Tarot decks do you have?
-         I have around 20, 10 Oracle decks including the Lenormand, so close to 30 all together.

11. Do you mix oracles and Tarot when you read?
-         Yes I do… Not every time, but I do it time to time.

12. Have you ever created your own Tarot card or deck?
-         No, but I want to some day in the future. I found a site that makes playing cards and they also make tarot. I have gathered all the Major Arcana

13. Do you read for yourself?
- I do read for myself, but I must say that I find it a bit difficult to read for myself rather than reading for others.

14. What are your favorite questions to be asked when you do a reading for someone else?
-         I love questions that people want to better themselves and I cringe when I get those fortune-teller (I hate that word) questions like:
  • Will he/she come back to me – what was the status between you when you broke up? Angry? Enemies? If the relationship was so bad, so why do you want to get back together? If everything was ok, why break up?
  • Am I pregnant – take a pregnancy test
  • will I be rich – Only if save your money, do smart investments and don’t overspend your money
  • Will he divorce his wife – No he won’t, why do you want to be together with a cheater? What he has done with you – he can do to you!! 98% (don’t quote me on this) never leave their wives.
15. What's the craziest thing that's happened to you during a reading?
- One of the “craziest” I experienced is when I did a reading for myself in 2002.
One turning point for me was that I put down a six month spread and I don't remember what cards I got, but I do remember I got the death card (It doesn't mean a physical death, but a transformation - a door closes and another opens) and I put away the card and forgot all about it really, between 3 to 6 weeks later my mom passed away. Did I read this in the cards? No, I still don't. Because my mom had terminal cancer and she was in her last stage. BUT my reaction was about the timeline of it all.

That's it for my blogpost for today and I will see in my my blog post :) Take care of yourself and you loved ones:)

Love and merry see :)

Sweet buns and quinquagesima sunday

Hello sweet buns and merry meet :)

How are you all doing? I hope you are all right on this day. It is two things that are happening today and that is quinquagesima sunday and it is a new moon:)

My husband and I was discussing quinquagesima sunday and we couldn't agree if this was a Christian Celebration or a Pagan Celebration. So we more of less agreed we could share this one :)

 The Church
Today is quinquagesima sunday - In Norwegian we say Fastelavn- which means it is 40 days before Easter and it was 40 days of Lent. (the Sundays is not inclueded)
They celebrated the Lent for four days, quinquagesima sunday, Blue Monday, White Tuesday and Ash Wednesday. Sorry if I didn't get the right names for Tuesday and Wednesday, but I went with my translation.

The Pagan
Back in the good old pagan days this was a spring party - it marked the transition from winter to spring. One of the best kept traditions of the day is the Birch twigs. The Birch twigs was used as a "fertility-tool", The dirt before the plow, trees, animals and the women of the family got to feel the brich twigs.

Other traditions was carneval, wheapon fights, have ritual bonfires and they hooked naked virgins in front of the plow.

The day care centers of today have carneval and February is the big month. They play dress up and it is a lot of princes and princesses + pirates and firemen and police men. And will enjoy their quinquagesima buns :)

I remember my mom used to buy the birch twigs with colorful feathers and I am not quite sure why and when they started to attached feathers to the birch.

Another tradition is we eat buns on this day with whipped cream and strawberry jam and it is sooo good. I used to buy store bought buns for years, but not this year.. I will make my sweet buns and enjoy all that goes with it :)

Love and merry see,

Daily tarotscope for Saturday and Sunday 24th and 25th of February 2017

Hello and merry meet,

How are you in these days? I hope you have a great time:)
Imbolc has come and gone so the spring over over now... in theory :) In real life we 5-10 cm snow and minus degrees.. But the days is getting longer and it is at least a beginning :)

So over to the daily draw, I use Illuminati tarot by Erik C. Dunne and as always I must tell you take with you what speaks to you and leave the rest :)

Your main cards - 3 of Swords and 10 of Cups - It is time to letting go of all the negative things in your life and you will have a better life after it.
What is it that is doesn't work for you? Is it someone who suck the energy out of you? Do have any drama queens/kings in your life? You have to decide who are important to you and who you want to spend your time with. When you know that you will have better connections with  those who are important to you.

Your help card - 6 of Wands - You will spend time with your "inner circle" people and those who are important to you will stand by you and help you in good and bad times. They are the one you need to focus on

Your hinder cards - 8 of Swords, 6 of Swords and 7 Swords - You may feel that you are tied up and you won't see where to take your steps at first. Becuase you do these changes in your life there will some people who will try to hang on with their bad/negative energy with all cost. It means that it will some turmoil and My best advice is to try to hang in there because it will get better. You will the part whos is winning this battle because it is your life and have to live it your way . Your life=your rules!!

I hope you will enjoy the weekend no matter what your choice may be or not to be :)

Love and merry see

Daily tarotscope for Friday 24th of February 2017

Hello darlings and merry meet,

How are you doing? I hope you are doing all right and you are enjoying the weekend. Yet another month is almost over and the time flies by so fast..

As always remember to take what speaks to you and leave the rest. If nothing speaks to you and it is ok it means that these wasn't for you this time. If these cards speaks to you and if you find them helpful - wonderful.

Your main energy - The Lovers - You feel the love and you have a lot of love to give others, but in all you have to remember not forget to love yourself. If you don't love or care for yourself.. How can you love and care for somone else? In that note you may do some changes that seves you the best.

Your help card- 9 of cups (reversed) - you will get your wishes fullfilled, but it takes a bit longer than you wanted and it can be connected to your main card. When you have work out how you want your life and the neccessay changes you can start to reap your blessings and good fortune.

What can be a hinder - King of Wands (Reversed) - is that it might get to your head and be careful for that. You will go in for your life change with all you have of energy, but don't make it all about you :) Let others to shine with you :)

Love and merry see,

Susann
